LEARN MORE ABOUT WHALE SHARKS

Did you know that whale sharks can live between 70 and 100 years? Although they have about 3,000 small teeth, they cannot bite or chew. They filter plankton through their gills to feed, making them gentle giants of the oceans.

They often feed at the surface but can also dive to depths of up to 1,000 meters (3,280 feet). Additionally, each whale shark has a unique pattern of spots, similar to human fingerprints, which allows them to be identified individually.

An Endangered Species.

Unfortunately, the global whale shark population has been declared endangered by the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature). It is essential to protect these majestic creatures and their habitat to ensure their survival.
