THE PIT & TAAK BI HA
Dive into one of the most legendary cenotes of the Yucatan: The Pit, renowned for its impressive depth and extraordinary optical phenomena.
Descend through a column of crystal-clear water where sunlight creates spectacular light beams. At about 30 meters, you'll cross the halocline, the invisible boundary where fresh water meets salt water, creating striking blur effects.
Taak Bi Ha - The second dive
To complete this exceptional day, we dive in Taak Bi Ha cenote ("Hidden Water" in Mayan), lesser known but equally spectacular.
This cenote offers galleries adorned with delicate limestone formations and exceptional visibility. The submerged stalactites bear witness to the era when these caves were above water, more than 10,000 years ago.
At the bottom of the cenote, a rare phenomenon awaits: a hydrogen sulfide cloud suspended above the floor, creating the illusion of a ghostly underwater river.
This dive requires excellent buoyancy control and rigorous air consumption management due to the depth.

The Pit Cenote Diving: The Abyss of Light
The Pit cenote (El Pit) is the deepest cenote accessible in recreational diving in the Yucatan Peninsula, reaching 40 meters deep. Its main attraction is the spectacular beam of light that pierces the surface and creates a luminous shaft crossing the crystal-clear water — an exceptional photographic spectacle.
At 15 meters deep, you'll cross a halocline layer where fresh water meets salt water, creating a kaleidoscopic blur effect. Further down, a hydrogen sulfide cloud wraps the walls in a mysterious mist. Advanced Open Water certification required.
